We are looking for a Spiritual Program Coordinator

Thuten Shedrubling Buddhist Center, Tawang is looking for a spiritual program coordinator (SPC) who can join us from 1st April 2021. Excellence in written English and proficiency in written Tibetan is required for this role, and although not required a native Tibetan speaker is ideal. An appropriate candidate for this position loves the Himalayan mountains with their fresh, chilly weather, appreciates and enjoys Tibetan Buddhist cultures, and is enthusiastic about the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism.

SPC Primary roles:
The primary responsibility of the SPC is the coordination and management of the spiritual program, manage social media pages, in alignment with Thubten Shedrubling Buddhist Center policy and guidelines. The SPC is responsible for:
• Planning the programs for the Buddhism course, the Tibetan language course, and any other part time courses in
consultation with teachers, translators, and directors.
• Preparing reports for the Director, Board meetings, and others as required.
• Creating posters and updating course related information on our social media (Facebook and Instagram) pages.
• Creating content for the website and serve as liaison with website management team for regular updates.
• Creating monthly newsletters, both electronic and print, in consultation with management.
• Managing program implementation. This includes:
• liaising with visiting & resident teachers about program.
• monitoring events & teachings & providing feedback.
• ensuring that materials required for teachings and practices are available.
• general administration associated with the program.
• be an active member of the Centre’s management committee.

Skills:
• Excellent written English and spoken Tibetan, and proficiency in written Tibetan.
• Overall proficiency in modern technology, including skills in Microsoft Office, Canva, photoshop, social media management, and simple graphic design.
• Good planning skills, ability to execute plans with precision and in time.
• Sincere commitment to Buddhist practice, ideally with a commitment to or as a follower of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
• Familiarity with the Tibetan Buddhist traditions of study, practice, service, and ethical conduct.
• Adaptability and a “can do attitude,” the ability to embrace change and adapt as necessary.
• The ability to work as a team player, regularly interfacing with the different parts of the Centre.

Compensation and facilities:
1. Attractive salary plus annual paid round trip home vacation.
2. Health insurance cover up to Rs. 1 lakh per year.
3. Two months’ winter vacation with full compensation.
