October 2022 Lhagkar Newsletter

Greetings from Harvard

Tashi Delek dear friends,

My heartfelt congratulations to our team for publishing our first newsletter. We are very happy to share that we will publish newsletters once a month from now on. This is to keep our esteemed supporters and friends updated on the activities and projects of Thubten Shedrubling Foundation in Tawang. We hope you enjoy our first newsletter.

This fall with the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and all my kind teachers, I began my studies at Harvard embarking on a new inning in my life. How is Harvard valuable to a geshe lharampa is a question that I did not have an answer to initially.

So far, at Harvard I learnt that time is valuable and I should be grateful to everyone around me. I look forward to many new experiences and lessons that will help me become a better person.

I cannot wait to share my thoughts and impressions with everyone in Tawang and elsewhere through this newsletter once a month.

Warmly,

Tulku Tenzin Gyurmey

Buddhism classes at Thubten Shedrubling Buddhist Center

The vision of Tengyur Rinpoche is to make the teachings of the Buddha accessible to everyone. We have been offering a six months intro course which is open to everyone during the last three years. The course is taught by Geshe Jampa Thinley from Sera Jey Monastery in a modern and interactive way. We also organize monthly Lama Chopa and Tara pujas. This summer the classes were relocated to the newly inaugurated building. Students seem to enjoy our newly built gompa which has a beautiful altar.

Tibetan Language Classes at Thubten Shedrubling

The Tibetan language forms the heart of our rich culture and tradition and its preservation has never been more urgent. His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama often urges the Himalayan people who share the same cuture and tradition as Tibet to study Buddhism and Tibetan language. At our center we prioritize access to both written and spoken Tibetan language classes for a wider audience. We strive to cater to the needs of different groups of students.
