Welcome Ceremony for Geshe Jampa Tinley and Consecrating Buddhist Hall

On 24th August 2020, members, and staffs of Thubten Shedrubling Foundation, Tawang accorded warm welcome to Geshe Jampa Thinley, a Lharampa graduated from Sera Jey Monastery. Geshela is the new resident Dharma teacher at Zhiwatso Buddhist Center and he is requested by Tengyur Rinpoche, the founder and President of the foundation to be the resident teacher. Geshela cut the ribbon while reciting auspicious verses and opened the newly renovated hall followed by distributing traditional sweet butter rice and butter tea to all guests.

An audio recording of welcome address by Tengyur Rinpoche was played where Rinpoche extended his welcome to Geshela on behalf of all members. Geshela expressed his pleasure in being able to make it to Tawang during this difficult time and take the new responsibility as the resident teacher. The classes started a week later.

Geshe la arrived later than planned. Due to the covid situation and the lockdown, Geshe la could not leave Dharamsala where he had been staying until the last week of August.

TSF staff has put a lot of effort to create conducive conditions for studies with Geshe Jampa Tinley. A new wooden floor in the classroom where Geshe la will teach and lead pujas was made to keep the room warm during cold winter months.
